Anthony Pattin gave his New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 1998. In a review of that concert, a critic for the New York Review magazine called Pattin “a pianist of definite skills and strengths.” Said of his 2002 solo recital in Merkin Concert Hall in New York… “Dr. Pattin is a solid presence onstage, confident and gracious. His music making speaks of great involvement and erudition. With the ear and ability to vary tone color with consistency, his palette is a good one.” Darrell Rosenbluth, (New York Concert Review Magazine). He returned to Weill Hall in 2006 and received high praise for his Schumann Kreislerlana and Debussy and Rachmaninoff interpretations.

 A native of Toledo, Ohio, he made his professional orchestral debut, performing Gershwin’s Concerto in F with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Yuval Zaliouk. He has also performed with the Alabama Symphony, the Tuscaloosa Symphony, the Arkansas Symphony, the Abilene Philharmonic as well as others. He has appeared on the Alabama Symphony’s “Concerrtmaster and Friends series”. In 2013 ASO concertmaster Daniel Szasz and Pattin traveled to New York where they performed a recital at the famed Apollo Theatre, as official representatives of the cultural arts in Birmingham. In addition, he has performed on the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago, which was broadcast live on National Public Radio. Afterwards, he was invited to perform on the same concert series in Los Angeles. In addition, he has performed two concert tours of Japan, and presented recitals throughout cities in Europe and Central America.

 His competition activity includes first prize wins in the Bartok-Kabalevsky International Piano Competition held at Radford University in Radford, VA; the Grosse Pointe Symphony Piano Concerto Competition in Detroit, MI; the Irene Tintner Competition in Saginaw, MI; and the Graduate Artists Piano Competition held at St. Mary’s College in Nore Dame, IN.

 With degrees in piano performance from Toledo University, University of Michigan, and the University of Alabama, he was Professor of Music at the University of Montevallo (Alabama) from 1987-2011. While at UM he was named Distinguished Professor (2001) and University Scholar (2002). After his retirement in 2011 the university set up the Dr. Anthony Pattin Steinway Endowment Fund.

 In November of 2019 Pattin relocated back to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio,where is active as a performer both in solo, chamber music, masterclass clinician,  lecturer and adjudicator. Upcoming concerts include a performance of Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals with Toledo pianist Frances Renzi with the Temple (Texas) Symphony Orchestra. He will play the same work this summer in Alfred, New York with pianist, and fellow MostArts Festival judge Lucy Mauro . He serves a musician for First St. John's Lutheran Church in Toledo.
