Bethany Borg began her musical journey at just two years old, touring the U.S. and Japan with her family band, which included five siblings. Along the way, she developed a love for fiddle contests, winning ten state and national titles. Her unique blend of classical training and fiddle contest techniques helped shape her signature sound—a fusion of precision and bold, expressive playing. After moving to Alabama, Bethany became a founding member of the acclaimed group “Act of Congress” and was an original member of the “Black Jacket Symphony.” Her musical career then took an international turn as she and her bandmates represented the U.S. in a cultural exchange program, performing across Southeast Asia in countries like Thailand, the Philippines, the UAE, Jordan, Timor-Leste, and Palau. Years of band experience inspired Bethany to pursue her own artistic vision, leading to the creation of “Nordik Fire,” her electric violin project. Blending jazz, rock, classical, and fiddle styles, “Nordik Fire” showcases the violin’s limitless possibilities. By incorporating guitar pedals, Bethany transforms the instrument’s sound, creating rich, dynamic performances that captivate audiences. When she’s not recording, performing or teaching, Bethany enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben, and their violin-playing children, Nate and Clara. Outside of music, she loves cooking, hiking, reading, and, of course, buying new guitar pedals.
