DeLee Michiko Benton is a member of the Opera Birmingham Studio at Samford University pursuing her master's degree in vocal performance. A few of her favorite past credits include The Marriage of Figaro (Susanna, University of Montevallo), The Three Little Pigs (Despina Pig, Opera Birmingham), and La Bohème (Ensemble, Opera Birmingham). 

DeLee can be seen this season as Little Red in Opera Birmingham’s Little Red’s Most Unusual Day, the Mother in Samford’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, and the Sandman in Opera Birmingham’s Hansel and Gretel. 

DeLee hopes to someday teach voice and direct an opera program, utilizing her undergraduate studies in Music Education at the University level. Until then, she’s content in her studies and loves to teach private lessons and craft. Her biggest joy in life is her husband, Justice, and their three adorable cats.
