DeLee Michiko Benton is a member of the Opera Birmingham Studio at Samford University pursuing their master's degree in vocal performance. A few of their favorite past credits include The Marriage of Figaro (Susanna, University of Montevallo), The Three Little Pigs (Despina Pig, Opera Birmingham), and La Bohème (Ensemble, Opera Birmingham). 

DeLee performed this season as Little Red in Opera Birmingham’s Little Red’s Most Unusual Day and the Mother in Samford’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. They can be seen as the Sandman in Opera Birmingham’s upcoming Hansel and Gretel. 

DeLee hopes to someday teach voice and direct an opera program, utilizing their undergraduate studies in Music Education at the University level. Until then, they’re content in their studies and love to teach private lessons and craft. Their biggest joy in life is their husband, Justice, and their three adorable cats.
