Alie B. Gorrie is thrilled to be back with Opera Birmingham after recently playing the role of Helen Keller in Opera Birmingham’s reading of Touch at Red Mountain Theatre’s Human Rights New Works Festival. Favorite Birmingham musical theatre credits include Hairspray, Godspell, 42nd Street, and Roaring 20’s with Red Mountain Theatre. Alie B. sings as a staff soloist at First United Methodist Church. She has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Belmont University and a master’s in Arts in Medicine from University of Florida. When off-stage, Alie B. is the Community Engagement Manager at Red Mountain Theatre and teaches Community Engagement for theatre students at Samford University. She also works as a disability inclusion consultant for theatres and arts organizations around the country.
