Aubrey Odle
mezzo-soprano (Kansas City, MO)

Aubrey Odle, known for her “warm, plummy” and “luscious” voice (KC Independent) is a competitive up-and-coming mezzo-soprano. She most recently won second prize in the artist division at the Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition with the National Opera Association (Marjorie Gordon Award). She is currently a Resident Artist with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City for a second season. This summer, she will join Des Moines Metro Opera, covering the leading role of Judith in Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle.

While at Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Aubrey’s portrayals have garnered attention. Most recently, her Flora in La Traviata was reviewed as “vivacious and vocally convincing.” Notably, she led their production of Amahl and the Night Visitors as Mother, which was full of “authenticity and pathos.” Other role experience with Lyric Opera of Kansas City include Mercédès and Carmen cover (Carmen) and A Teacher and Laurene cover in The

R(e)volution of Steve Jobs. She has performed other leading roles such as Carmen, La Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), and Dame Quickly (Falstaff). Utah’s Front Row Reviewers stated, “Odle’s vocal strength may only be second to her strength as Dame Quickly in one of the most animated performances I have ever seen.” Aubrey also has great interest in new opera. She sang leading roles in the US premiere of Evan Fein’s opera City of Ashes, as well as the world premiere of Frank Pesci’s Royal Flush.

She has received accolades from other competitions such as Houston Saengerbund, the Orpheus Vocal Competition, The American Prize competition, and the Utah Valley Symphony Young Artist Competition. She has done concert work with Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Knoxville Opera, and Utah Valley Symphony. Additionally, he also had the recent opportunity to attend the Vocal Immersion Program at the Castleton Festival led by Paul Groves and Michelle DeYoung.
