Sebastian Black

A Birmingham native, Sebastian Black graduated from Williams College in 2019 with BAs in music and psychology. He began training as a classical soloist with UAB’s Tatiana Kasman at age six, and has since branched out into jazz, pop, ragtime, and musical theater. Sebastian’s international orchestral debut came in Kyiv in 2011 with the National Academic Honored Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He debuted domestically in 2019 as a winner of the Berkshire Symphony Soloist Competition. He currently works as an accompanist at Samford, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in piano performance, and he plays for weekly services at Vestavia Hills Methodist Church. In the summer, he performs as a baritone and pianist with Birmingham’s Iron City Singers.
