Quinn Middleman
mezzo-soprano

Praised for her “fine, warm mezzo-soprano voice,” Quinn Middleman is known for her dynamic artistry and stage presence. In the 2022-23 season, she returns to Madison Opera as the Page in Salome (covering Herodias), covers Handel’s titular Ariodante at Pittsburgh Opera, and debuts as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel with Opera Birmingham. She will join the Santa Fe Opera as a member of the 2023 Apprentice Singers Program, covering Geneviève in Pelléas et Mélisande and Ninfa in L’Orfeo.

In the 2021-22 season, she appeared as Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor with Madison Opera, Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with Opéra Louisiane, the alto soloist in Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Testo in La Susanna with Haymarket Opera, and Filippyevna in Eugene Onegin with Music Academy of the West. Quinn also placed first in the Opera Birmingham competition, won the Mozart Prize at the Orpheus Vocal Competition, and was a finalist in the Argento Vocal Competition. Quinn has also performed with Utah Opera, Utah Symphony, Des Moines Metro Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Central City Opera, Tanglewood Music Center, and LYNX Project. Quinn is passionate about art song and concert work and has organized multiple benefit concerts for women’s shelters in Chicago. She holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University, and received bachelor’s degrees in both oboe performance and vocal arts from the University of

Southern California. She currently studies with Nova Thomas.
