Christiana, age 15, is a pre-professional dancer with an intense passion for her craft and a dedicated drive to continuously push herself to new heights. She began her dance career with formal classes in ballet, jazz, tap and hip-hop dance at age four with Miss Kelley’s School of Dance in Trussville, Alabama. At age 12, Christiana was accepted into the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) in Birmingham, Alabama as a 7th grader, and she is currently enrolled as a high school freshman with dance as her specialty and studies under renowned instructors Wes Chapman, Shawn Black, Germaul Barnes and Margi Cole. At ASFA, Christiana continues her developing her skills in ballet, contemporary, modern, West African and hip-hop dance. In addition to a rigorous dance schedule at ASFA, she maintains above average grades in their advanced academic program and enriches her dance technique through multiple school performances each year: Fall Repertory, Senior Choreography Project and Spring Repertory. Christiana has been member of the Alabama Dance Festival since 2021 and completed her participation in Alabama Ballet’s Summer Dance Intensive programs of 2021 and 2022. For 2023, Christiana is a cast member in Opera Birmingham’s production of Hansel & Gretel as well as Yogi Dada’s Graffica Live and will be attending American Dance Festival’s Pre-Professional Dance Intensive & Dance Professional Workshops in Durham, North Carolina.
