Zoe Wirt
soprano

Zoe Wirt, soprano, has been a working actor and musician in Birmingham since her graduation from Birmingham-Southern College in 2018. While a student, Zoe won the Whittington Concerto and Aria Competition three times, as well as co-founded and served on the leadership board for the Association of Music Students, which created the annual music festival and fundraiser, HillFest.

A frequent soloist at Opera Shots, Zoe has also performed with Opera Birmingham in Sounds of the Season, TOUCH, The Pirates of Penzance, Tosca, and Hamlet. Other professional theatre credits include Grand Opening and My Fair Lady (Red Mountain Theatre); A Not So Silent Night (Central Alabama Theatre); Dot & Ziggy, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, The Hundred Dresses, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and Rumpelstiltskin (Birmingham Children’s Theatre); and Steve Martin’s The Underpants (Homewood Theatre). Beyond the Opera Birmingham Chorus, Zoe has performed with choral ensembles such as Sursum Corda, Iron City Singers, the St. Paul’s Cathedral choir, and presently the Vestavia Methodist Chancel Choir.

Zoe is also a director, music director, and choreographer. Most recently, she served in all three of these positions for the Alabama School of Fine Arts theatre department’s production of A Chorus Line. Zoe teaches musical theatre and private voice to ASFA’s theatre students and served as music director and choreographer for last year’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She has music directed many shows with Birmingham Children’s Theatre, as well as having directed their current touring production, Inside Out. Thank you for supporting local artists!
