Annabelle King
soprano

Annabelle King is a graduate of Samford University with a BA in Vocal Performance, having studied with Dr. Sharon Lawhon. She performed three years with Samford’s University Choral under Dr. Lawhon and one year with the A Cappella Choir under Philip Copeland. She was a semi-finalist in the 2018 Alabama Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing auditions, performed the world premiere of “A Function of a Thing” by Andrew Bass in the fall of 2020 and has performed in Opera Birmingham in their production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance and Samford Opera’s production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, where she held the role of Papagena. Annabelle currently sings with the St. Steven’s Choir in Birmingham. She has been invited back to the Opera Viva! program in Verona Italy for the second time this summer and will participate in the Stage Direction track. She continuously looks forward to new experiences and opportunities that present themselves to her and is excited to have the chance to perform here with Opera Birmingham.
