Lauren Tinsley
soprano (Mike & Mary Anne Freeman Artist)

Lauren Tinsley received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she performed the role of The Wife in Richard Wargo’s The Music Shop. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree at Samford University where she has performed a handful of roles in scenes and projects such as Lisette (La Rondine), Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti), and Miss Todd (The Old Maid and the Thief). Lauren will also be debuting a role in a new, Samford-commissioned opera this fall. As a Birmingham native, Lauren is thrilled to be a part of the Opera Birmingham Studio at Samford University. This season she performed as Simone in Opera Birmingham’s children’s opera production of The Billy Goats Gruff. She is greatly looking forward to being more involved with the local opera community. Outside of singing, Lauren loves baking, hiking, and reading.
