John Q. Lennard

John Q. Lennard, is a native of Tuskegee Institute, Alabama, where he gained a love for his principal instrument the saxophone. Lennard sought his college education at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee where he earned a B.S. in music education. John Lennard was a member of the world-renowned Marching 100 band and many other ensembles at FAMU. Lennard is a member of the FAMU Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity (Tuskegee), and Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority (Tuskegee). John Q. Lennard is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

After college John served as a high school band director in Miami-Dade County and Orlando, FL; and Tuskegee, AL. He also served as a jazz and gospel musician in Orlando. John Lennard served as director of bands at the Historic Tuskegee University.

He has performed music across the world. Lennard has also had the distinctive opportunity to perform with or open for great musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, The Ohio Players, Victor Goines, Nat Adderly Jr., Jimmy Heath, The Count Basie Orchestra, Brian McKnight, Avery Sunshine, Donnell Jones, Crissette Michelle, Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kurt Carr, P.J. Morton, Marvin Sapp, Beverly Crawford, and Byron Cage.

John Lennard is presently a graduate assistant at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. He is the composer and arranger for the performing troupe Bulldog Beat. He also assists with the Marching Maroon and White Marching Band.
