Born in Denver, Hannah Robbins has been active throughout the Colorado music scene since a young age. As a freelance musician, she performs with many local ensembles including the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Chamber Players, and Colorado Bach Ensembles. Hannah lives in Evergreen where she teaches private lessons out of the Evergreen Conservatory of Music. Hannah received her Bachelor of Music in cello performance from University of Michigan where she was a student of Richard Aaron. During her undergraduate studies she developed a strong passion for early music and began studying viola da gamba under the instruction of Enid Sutherland. She continued on to receive her Masters of Music from Indiana University as a student of Wendy Gillespie and was awarded the position of Associate Instructor in the Early Music Institute.
Hannah has been active throughout the country participating in numerous summer festivals and orchestras including the Aspen Music Festival, Oberlin Early Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute. She has also performed internationally as a soloist with the Denver Young Orchestra. Hannah loves living in the mountains, spending as much time outside as possible, and traveling the country in her van with her dogs. She is currently working on a project to record the Bach Cello Suites during her adventures and especially loves playing music in our beautiful national parks.
