Gary “Malachi” Scott is the Community Healing Manager at Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth, leading nationwide restorative circles and trainings. He co-founded the North Oakland Restorative Justice Council and served on Oakland’s Safety and Services Oversight Commission. A contributor to The New York Times, Malachi was featured in the film Healing Justice. While incarcerated at San Quentin, he co-founded Kid C.A.T., served as sports editor of the San Quentin News, and earned an associate degree through the Prison University Project. He is also a certified life coach and a graduate of the Victim Offender Education Group.
