Mah Nishtanah
Mah nishtanah, ha-laylah ha-zeh,
mi-kol ha-leylot?
Why is this night different
from all other nights?;
She-b'khol ha-leylot 'anu 'okhlin
chametz u-matzah,
ha-laylah ha-zeh, kulo matzah?
That on all other nights we eat both
chametz and matzah,
on this night, we eat only matzah?
She-b'khol ha-leylot 'anu 'okhlin
sh'ar y'rakot,
ha-laylah ha-zeh, maror?
That on all other nights we eat
many vegetables,
on this night, we eat only bitter herbs?
She-b'khol ha-leylot 'eyn 'anu
matbilin 'afilu pa`am 'achat,
ha-laylah ha-zeh, shtey p`amim?
That on all other nights we do not
dip vegetables even once,
on this night, we dip twice?
Mah nishtanah, ha-laylah ha-zeh?
Why is this night different
from all other nights?;
She-b'khol ha-leylot 'anu 'okhlin
ushotin beyn yoshvin u-veyn m'subin,
ha-laylah ha-zeh, kulanu m'subin?
That on all other nights
some eat and drink sitting with others reclining,
but on this night, we are all reclining?

I rejoiced when they said to me: Let us go up to the House of God.
Now we stand within your gates, O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem, built to be a city where people come together as one!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you prosper!
For the sake of my people, my friends, I pray you find peace.
For the sake of the house of Adonai our God, I will seek your good.
