Blaine Cunningham

Blaine Cunningham is in his 13th season as principal tuba for Orchestra Iowa, and his 11th as the orchestra’s librarian. Blaine is serving in his second term as Treasurer for the Major Orchestra Librarians’ Association, where he enjoys networking and talking shop with fellow librarians from 350 orchestras and other professional performing arts organizations around the world. Blaine also teaches music courses at both Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy University. His career as a musician, teacher, and librarian has led him to opportunities to perform and travel across the United States, as well as to Canada, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Finland, Estonia, and Brazil. Originally from Bryant, Arkansas, Blaine studied tuba performance at the University of Arkansas, the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and the University of Iowa.
