Elise Charny
Ramsey Theatre Company Managing Director/ Company Manager

Elise Charny is a Bowling Green native currently serving as Managing Director of Ramsey Theatre Company and Artistic Director of BG OnStage. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College and a Master of Arts in Theatre Education from Emerson College.

While in New York, Elise gained industry experience working on major film and television productions, including The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, CSI: NY, and Law & Order: SVU. She later relocated to Boston to pursue graduate studies, where she helped establish the drama program at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, laying the groundwork for a flourishing initiative that has since expanded into a high school musical theatre program.

As a co-founder of BG OnStage, Elise began serving full-time as Artistic and Education Director in 2014, helping shape the organization’s mission by providing theatrical education through both performance opportunities—including cabaret nights and productions—and training programs such as classes, camps, GSA, and college coaching. She has directed more than 30 productions with the organization. She has also contributed to higher education as an adjunct professor at Western Kentucky University, teaching both dual credit and main campus theatre appreciation courses.

Elise’s commitment to the arts extends into media and education, having served as WNKY’s Entertainment Reporter for SOKY Sunrise during its first year and a half. Her high school directing credits include Bowling Green High School’s productions of Once Upon a Mattress (2018), High School Musical (2019), and Les Misérables (2020).

In 2020, Elise led the merger of BG OnStage with SKYPAC, expanding access to high-quality theatrical education for students across the BRADD region. She went on to help establish Ramsey Theatre Company in 2022, directing its inaugural production of Beauty and the Beast (2023), followed by Little Shop of Horrors (2024) and Cinderella (2024). In 2024, she was named Managing Director of the company.

Elise remains deeply committed to cultivating artistic excellence and expanding educational opportunities in her hometown through her leadership and enduring passion for the performing arts.
