Jena Carpenter
Soprano

Jena Carpenter made her Opera Idaho debut in 2000 as Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. This role she would later reprise with Opera Idaho in 2014 and the Nationaltheatre Mannheim in 2018. Jena most recently sang the role Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro with Opera Idaho, Amelia in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera with the Opera de Bauge Festival, and Almirena in Handel’s Rinaldo at the extraordinary Schwetzingen Palace with Nationaltheater Mannheim, Germany.

Jena’s leading roles include Mimì in La bohème, Micaëla in Carmen, Pamina and the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, and Rosina in The Ghosts of Versaille. Her musical theatre roles include Laurey (Oklahoma!), Marian Paroo (The Music Man), Maria (The Sound of Music), and the title role in Cinderella.

Jena received her Master of Music from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim, Germany and her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Vanderbilt University.
