Carrie Colton
Director

Carrie Colton (she/they) is a director, choreographer, and musician based out of Denver, Colorado. Carrie holds a BFA in Classical Acting from Southern Utah University and an MFA in directing from Florida State University. Carrie has performed in the international tours of My Fair Lady (Eliza) and Annie (Miss Hannigan), as well as several regional theatres around the country. Some of her favorite directing credits include Hairspray (Fusion Academy of Hong Kong), Romeo and Juliet (North Dakota Shakespeare Festival), Julius Caesar (The Shakespeare Project), Peter Pan (Jacksonville Opera), Scarlet Pimpernel (Candlelight Dinner Playhouse), Pippin (Actors Academy) and The Tempest (Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival). She is currently an Associate Professor of Movement and Directing at Metropolitan State University of Denver where she also runs the BFA in musical theatre program. In addition, she is the Artistic Director at The Actors Academy for the Performing Arts and teaches dance with Creative Dance Kids. Carrie is a certified Yoga Teacher from Guru Mahi’s Ashrum in India, holds her clowning certificate from the LA School of Clowning, is an Intimacy Director through Theatrical Intimacy Education, and an Associate Instructor of stage combat with Dueling Arts International.
