David Berger holds two degrees cum laude from Ohio State: BS in music education and an MM in Piano performance. At OSU, he was in the Marching Band, Chorale, trombone ensemble, chamber music, band and orchestra. He holds a Master of Music degree in Accompanying from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He taught high school vocal music for four years and for 20 years worked as conductor, chorusmaster, pianist and vocal coach for opera companies of Cincinnati, Columbus, Des Moines, Santa Fe, Glimmerglass, Memphis, Central City. He served as music director, chorusmaster, repetiteur and education director for Kentucky Opera for 15 years. Mr. Berger has conducted 50 operas and music theatre productions. He has taught private piano and voice for over 45 years. After spending 16 years as music director at a Catholic Church in Ohio, he decided to retire and move to the lovely city of Greenville, SC, He is an avid reader, cook and gardener. He loves hiking, swimming and dogs.
