Even the most cursory internet search reveals over the past five or six years there has been a growing synergistic relationship among craft breweries, outdoor recreation, conservation projects, and healthy economies. This idea was one to which PPFF had begun to pay attention. So it was with real happiness that we accepted the offer to work with New Trail Brewing Company to create a series of special state park-themed beers, each a limited edition and each focused on a special fundraising aspect in the park chosen. From protection of the dark skies with Cherry [Springs] Chocolate Milk Stout to preservation of piping plover habitat with Presque Isle IPA to creation of ADA facilities through the Washington Crossing Hazy Double IPA, New Trail has consistently managed to link a delicious beer to an important initiative.
And then, New Trail topped off its own great idea with perhaps an even greater one. In addition to the state parks series, they created Replenish IPA, a “West Coast IPA” that will not go out of style or stock. And as it grows so do the fruits of its mission – to replenish the trees of Penn’s Woods. Each case sold results in $1 to the PPFF tree-planting fund; a draft at the Williamsport Tasting Room results in an equivalent gift from New Trail to the Foundation. The tree fund has already grown by over $20,000 since the beer’s release in September 2022. New Trail also worked with PPFF on the creation of the "Forests, Clean Water Quality, and Craft Beverages" video, which you can view here.
