The Simpsonville Arts Center
Venue

The Simpsonville Arts Center, housed in a historic building constructed in 1939 as Simpsonville Elementary School by the Works Progress Administration, boasts a rich history. Originally shared with Simpsonville High School until its closure in 1957, the building was repurposed into an arts center by the City of Simpsonville in 2019, thanks to a $500,000 matching grant from the Appalachian Regional Council. After undergoing initial renovations, the center officially opened in 2022.

Since then, the Simpsonville Arts Center has hosted theatrical and ballet performances, numerous art exhibitions, art classes, and more. Recognized with a South Carolina Historical Marker in 2015, the City of Simpsonville was awarded the prestigious Joseph P. Riley Jr. Award in 2023 for the Arts Center's significant impact on economic development within the community.
