JOSHUA SOMMERVILLE is a singer, pianist, composer, music director, and graduate of Towson University’s School of Music. He started by learning how to play the piano and singing at age five and became a professional musician/choir director at fourteen. He has worked with the late director of the Harlem Boys Choir, Dr. Walter Turnbull, Dr. Ysaye Barnewell of Sweet Honey and the Rock, and Dr. Stanley Thurston of the Washington Performing Arts Society Children Gospel. Founder and director of three singing groups, Sommerville created the “Emptiness Workshop,” which brings awareness, love, and knowledge to the self.
