Sasha Marlan-Librett graduated from Scripps in 2022 with a BA in Philosophy and Dance (Performance and Choreography). She grew up in Eugene, OR, training primarily in ballet and modern at the Eugene Ballet Academy. She continued her dance education at Scripps and at dance festivals and workshops such as the Bates Dance Festival, the SZALT Intensive, and now the American Dance Festival, focusing on contemporary styles. Sasha has participated as a dancer and choreographer each year with the Scripps and Pomona dance departments, working closely with Kevin Williamson, Rebecca Lemme, Liz Lerman, and Rosanna Tavarez. She completed a dual performance and written thesis in philosophy and dance titled Performing Consciousness: a Phenomenological Approach and Existentialist Performance Project. She will now continue her dance training at Gibney studios this fall in NYC and hopes to seek work as a performer, teacher, and dance maker.
