Called a “fabulous composer-pianist” and an “unimpeachable” choice of collaborator by the New York Times, Jerome Begin has composed many scores for dance, theater, concert works, opera, installation, and film. Equally at home in the classical, experimental, theatrical, and pop worlds, he has always been drawn to collaboration. Begin’s works have been performed throughout the USA, Europe, and Asia. Commissions include Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Abraham in Motion, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Juilliard School, Brian Brooks Moving Company, Keigwin + Company, Gallim Dance, Sean Curran Company, Janis Brenner & Dancers, Richmond Ballet, Alabama Ballet, and many others. This year, Jerome released an album of Post-, his piece for piano and live electronic processing. The album has received praise from many outlets, including being named Contemporary Album of the Month by The GuardianHe has served on the faculty of The Juilliard School as Music Advisor for the Dance Division since 2008. Mitchell Bogard
has been lighting Janis Brenner’s repertory since the 1980s. His work has also been seen in the repertoires of Martha Graham, Laura Dean, Susan Marshall, Richard Siegal, BODYTRAFFIC, Douglas Dunn, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, and Memphis Ballet, to name a few. A sampling of television credits includes Late Show with David Letterman, Sesame Street (Emmy nomination), Between The Lions (Emmy award), Ghostwriter, The Chris Rock Show, and The Rachael Ray Show (4 Emmy nominations). Theatrical credits include productions directed by Mike Nichols, Elizabeth Swados, and Robert Morse as well as national touring companies of Grease and Oh! Calcutta! His lighting was also featured in the Carnegie Hall concert footage of Wim Wenders’ film The Buena Vista Social Club. He received a “Best Lighting” award for Inheritance: A Litany at the 2018 United Solo Theatre Festival.


Aaron
Selissen, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT, is originally from Green Bay, WI. He received his BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University. He has choreographed and directed more than 15 works for B/S P including several dance films for the short film series, Titles Project. His work has been presented domestically and abroad at venues including the Inside/Out Series at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Staller Center for the Arts, Main Stage at Stonuy Brook University, Bryant Park, the 92Y, West End Theater, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Flea Theater, Gerald W. Lynch Theater, Arts on Site, Sam Houston State University, and more. Aaron has taught classes/workshops and set choreographic works in public schools throughout New York City and the US, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, Institut Kesenian Jakarta in Indonesia, and Teatr Muzyczny Capitol in Wroclaw, Poland, including creating new works for the Limón Professional Studies Program and Northern Plains Dance, to name a few. He can be found teaching at the Limón Institute in NYC, as well as giving private lessons. Selissen’s performance career has taken him across the US and abroad. He worked with Dance Kaleidoscope and Ballet Internationale of Indianapolis and has performed with the Martha Graham Ensemble, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, and Isabel Gotzkowsky and Friends, among many others. He was a member of the Limón Dance Company from 2010 to 2016 and has been performing with Janis Brenner & Dancers since 2007. www.barkinselissenproject.org
