Kendall Ramirez is a twenty-two year old dance artist based in Winston-Salem, NC. She is a recent graduate, with a BFA in Contemporary Dance, from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Kendall has most recently worked with Chris Yon and Taryn Griggs on various projects including a new work for the American Dance Festival’s Made in NC series. They are currently in residence as a dance artist with NC Dance Project’s Collaboration Exchange Program for their 2022-2023 season. Within southern art spaces, she is interested in researching states of availability and impulse in the body, as well as, grief, queerness, storytelling, and legibility.
Sarah Quinn holds her degrees in Dance Performance Studies and Business Administration in Management. She has worked with and performed works of artists such as Sayward Grindley, Sherone Price, Erick Hawkins, Trisha Brown, Heather Maloy, Jessica Lang, and George Balanchine. She has performed with Charlotte Ballet, Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, and The Walt Disney Company. Sarah is a studio owner, choreographer, teacher, and dancer in North Carolina.
Faith Markovetz is a dancer currently working in Denver, CO. She recently graduated from Arizona State University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She danced with CONDER|dance, an Arizona based contemporary company, for their 2021-2022 season and has performed works by Carley Conder, Mary Fitzgerald, Nicole Bradley-Browning, Roni Koresh, and Adam McKinney. Faith continuously strives to uncover the power of the moving body and values being a part of spaces that make engaging with dance an empowering act.
Rachel Silvey is a senior BA Theatre and Performance Study major with a double minor in Dance and Communication from Illinois! She is thrilled to be performing in this year’s Footprints piece titled This Place by Kimberly Bartosik at the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC. Her previous performance opportunities at Millikin University include company member of Counter Quiescence (spring 2022), Solstice: A Concert of Dance (fall 2021), Equinox: A Concert of Dance (spring 2021), and featured dancer in Songs For A New World (fall 2020). Rachel is very excited to be a part of this year’s ADF Footprints and sends her gratitude to ADF, Kimberly Bartosik, the endless support of her friends and family, and the company of Footprints for an incredible experience. Susan Burnap is a New Hampshire native and rising senior earning her BFA in Modern Dance at the University of Utah. In her time at the U, she has performed main stage works by guest artists Melanie George and LAJAMARTIN, as well as several faculty members, MFA candidates, and fellow students. When not dancing, Susan loves to spend her time skiing and hiking in the Wasatch Mountains and exploring Utah’s national parks. After graduation, she is excited to pursue a professional performing career followed by a future in sports medicine.
Jordan Gilbertson is a twenty-one year old Texas-based dance artist. She currently resides in Austin, TX, where she is going into her fourth year as a student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing both a BFA in dance and a BS in physics. In recent years at the University of Texas she has participated in many main stage and online performances in works created by Charles Anderson, Dorothy O’Shea Overbey, Jesse Zaritt, Erica Gionfriddo, Gesel Mason, and many of the other BFA students in the program. After graduation she is excited to pursue a professional career in dance and potentially graduate school for dance or physics.
Originally from Chicago, Sara Wagenmaker recently completed her BFA in Dance and minor in Arts Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University. She has had the privilege of working with Abby Zbikowski, Daniel Roberts, Dave Covey, Mitchell Rose, Melissa Thodos, and her fellow students. In her artistic explorations she continually seeks to deepen her understanding of dance as a shared experience and the possibilities therein, whether through staged performances, cyphers, dance films, or intermedia spaces.
Kate McCowan is an East Coast-based dance artist, choreographer, and recent graduate of Muhlenberg College with a BA in Dance and Art History. Kate has performed for choreographers such as Megan Flynn, Randall Anthony Smith, Monica Bill Barnes, Bill Evans, and Shelley Oliver. She has presented her own choreography through such platforms as the American College Dance Association and DANCE NOW NYC. Kate continues to investigate the interdisciplinary relationships between visual and performing arts, spectatorship, and human connection through movement.
Chloe Arterberry is a nineteen year old dance artist based in Greensboro, NC. She began her training at the age of 12 studying the ceccheti syllabus. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In her time at UNCG, she has studied under Virgina Dupont, Maurice Watson, and Dyane Cyrus. Chloe is very excited to perform for Kimberly. In the future, Chloe plans to pursue her passion for contemporary ballet and seek opportunities with companies or as a freelance dance artist.
Maggie Mitchelli is an 18-year-old junior at the University of the Arts studying directing, playwriting, and production. In the past year she has worked as stage manager for Just Sole Dance Company's Sole Party, assistant production manager for multiple programs of senior thesis works through her university, as well as assistant stage manager of a new work entitled Buried by Hallie Malina. She is looking forward to stage managing a UArts main stage production in the fall and is grateful for this opportunity to work with all of the inspiring choreographers and companies to come through the American Dance Festival this season.
David Ferri has worked with prominent choreographers such as Pina Bausch, Shen Wei, Doug Varone, Yin Mei, Eiko and Koma, Jane Comfort, David Rousseve, Jody Sperling, and Ballet Preljocaj. He has been the production manager for the prestigious American Dance Festival since 1996 training upcoming designers in America. Recipient of 1987-1988 "Bessie" award for his design of Doug Varone’s Straits and 2000-2001 "Bessie" award for sustained achievement in lighting design. Mr. Ferri is the resident lighting designer and technical director for the Vassar College dance department. Mr. Ferri was also resident lighting designer and technical director at PS 122 from 1985 to 1991. Mr. Ferri lives in New York between his travels and projects. He has been working with Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre since 2010.
