Laura Grant (she/her) is a performer, educator, and mom living in Durham, NC. She has been studying various dance, somatic, and improvisational forms since 1987 and performing professionally since 2005. She’s worked with choreographers in NYC, Minneapolis, and NC, including "Bessie" nominee Stacy Grossfield, McKnight fellows Justin Jones and Anna Marie Shogren, Gerri Houlihan, André Zachary, Mariángela Lopez, BodyCartography Project, and Hadestown’s Katie Rose McLaughlin. She was a founding director of Ready At Will (RAW), a site-specific dance collective, and a 2010 Knox College Artist-in-Residence. In 2020, she founded Performance Lab of the Triangle (P.L.O.T.), dedicated to rigorous movement research. Laura brings vulnerability, deep embodiment, and specificity to every performance. She holds an MSEd from Bank Street College in early childhood and certifications in adult and youth yoga and infant developmental movement, which she brings together in her business, Wild Arts: Mindful Movement and Early Education.
