A lifelong dancer and learner, Laci McDonald (she/her) graduated summa cum laude from ECU with a BFA in Dance Performance (Jazz) and a BSBA in Business Management in 2007, and a MBA in 2012. She joined the Ballet School of Chapel Hill faculty in 2007 and became a partner in 2017. She teaches Contemporary Jazz (all levels/ages), Pre-Ballet, and DanceAbilities, a movement class for dancers with special needs. She is the Dance Director and an Academic Advisor at Durham Academy’s Upper School, where she has worked since 2009. Laci has trained under brilliant mentors like Tommi Galaska, Clarine Powell, Patti Weeks, Rodger Belman, and Gerri Houlihan. She has performed for choreographers Nick Pupillo (2005), Colleen Thomas-Young (2006), and Ronald K. Brown (2018). She has participated in the Educators Workshop at ADF for many years. Laci and husband Justin are the proud parents of son Everett (9) and daughter Lennox (6).
