Malanah Antoinette is a project-based dancer and model working in Greensboro, NC. She has 15+ years of experience with a background in ballet/pointe, modern, and contemporary. She recently performed Clara’s Trip and Rouge with Caroline Calouche. Additionally, Malanah is a collaborator at Theatre of Movement, founded by Duane Cyrus, performing at the North Carolina Museum of Art and SECCA (Southeastern Center of Contemporary Art). Malanah started her training at Charlotte Ballet, later Lake Norman Performing Arts, and then Queen City Youth Ballet. In addition, she was an apprentice at Baran Dance 2 (Charlotte) and Bodiography Contemporary Dance Company (Pittsburgh). She received full scholarships at Charlotte Ballet, Lake Norman Performing Arts, Atlanta Ballet Summer Intensive, and La Roche College dance program. Malanah’s movement practice, which also inspired her modeling, explores themes of Black femininity, sexuality, and identity. She wants to incorporate ballet and modern techniques into social dance environments.
