Payton Chopp is a local Raleigh native with more than a decade of experience in ballet, contemporary, and modern dance. Trained classically in Royal Academy of Dance and Balanchine styles, most of her instruction comes from the expertise of Carolina Ballet principals and founding company members. A lifelong learner, she continues to further her dance education as a student in Durham with Threehouse Studios, American Dance Festival, and the Living Arts Collective. Payton is also a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she studied Psychology, Human Development, and Family Studies, as well as Social and Economic Justice. She is overjoyed to have the opportunity to dance and create with the beautiful minds and movers of Black Box Dance Theatre.
