Kristin Taylor Duncan, is a Durham native with a BFA from the UNC School of the Arts. She has trained at Jacob’s Pillow, Lou Conte Dance Studios, Dance Arts Unlimited, and Collage African Dance Company. Kristin has apprenticed with Urban Bush Women and worked with Nathan Trice, Bridget Moore, Christal Brown and Sidra Bell, Andrea E. Woods Valdes, Helen Simoneau, Tania Perez-Salas, Juel Lane, Gaspard Louis, Jasmine Powell, and Yuxtadanza of Venezuela. Kristin has worked with Dr. Kariamu Welsh and jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon in the ClothesLine Muse. Mrs. Taylor-Duncan is the dance director at Riverside High School and a dance educator for the Duke Dance Program as well as the Ballet School of Chapel Hill. Kristin is honored to receive this commission from the American Dance Festival. Happy 90th season ADF.
