Program Note
"Annyung" is one of the most common Korean greetings and is an informal way of saying hello to each other during our daily lives. When we say "annyung," it delightfully expresses the joy of meeting someone or defines our emotions when parting. This greeting’s meaning may translate differently depending on our interests and consideration for each other's situation and condition. Thus, "annyung" can carry a more profound meaning beyond just a simple greeting. In this work, we created certain dance movements to convey the importance of language and communication. Just like words, body language and gestures are a powerful way to greet one another and express our feelings and emotions. In a world where communication is a key part of the human experience, it is fundamental to continue to find ways to connect with one another and spread positivity through our interactions.

Won Kim’s participation in ADF’s International Choreographers Residency Program is supported by Korea Dance Abroad.
