Program Notes
∞ infinity is a research about the concept of one soul in two bodies. It could be the other half of the soul, or two souls intertwine together in all dimensions.
They meet, interact, exchange, and transform to the authentic self (ves).
They transcend the energy of yin and yang, masculine and feminine. Becoming the origin, the source, the infinity.
Blake Bellanger is a 2022 graduate from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Most recently Blake completed his first professional season with the Marigny Opera Ballet in New Orleans, and this is his first time attending ADF. For Blake, dance is about making connections with others through the artistic expression of human emotion and story.
Nicole Connaughton is a contemporary dancer from Baltimore, MD. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Goucher College in 2022. She has continued her training with Sarasota Contemporary Dance Company and was featured as a rising choreographer at their most recent summer intensive. Nicole values a practice of authenticity and the power of personal narrative shared through dance, which she is excited to explore during her first season here at ADF.
Jodie Judy Yu Ling Chu’s participation in ADF’s International Choreographers Residency Program is supported by the Taiwan Academy of TECRO/Ministry of Culture in Taiwan.
