Mandi Weitz grew up in Dayton, OH, where she trained with Dayton Ballet’s second company, performing professional corps de ballet roles under Karen Russo Burke. She plans to graduate in fall 2023 with her BFA in dance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and will be training with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company 2 during their 2023-24 season. She has choreographed two works for CCM’s yearly Student Choreographers’ Showcase as well as a concert piece for Dayton’s annual Art in the City Festival. She also has extensive experience choreographing musical theater numbers for Carroll High School and Springboro Community Theater. In 2022, she was invited by CCM director, Shauna Steele, to be a choreographer’s assistant for a week-long residency at Central Utah Ballet. Mandi believes in a holistic approach to dance, pursuing proficiency in a variety of dance styles and putting equal emphasis on the creative process. Her training includes classical ballet and modern as well as contemporary, street dance, tap, jazz, and character.
