Danica (Dani) Schofer is a dance and music interdisciplinary artist currently residing in Buffalo, NY. Dani graduated summa cum laude with a BA in dance and music from Muhlenberg College and is currently pursuing an MFA in dance with a secondary emphasis in music from the University at Buffalo (UB). Dani’s choreographic work has been presented at a variety of organizations along the East Coast, including Rochester Fringe Festival, University at Buffalo’s MFA Showcase and Informal Choreolab, and Muhlenberg College’s Reset, New Dances. As a creator/researcher, Dani explores the power of exchanging somatic and affective information in shared space, particularly working with community rehearsals and audience interaction. An active Dalcroze practitioner, Dani’s research on dance/music collaborations has been presented at the Dalcroze Society of America National Conference and the International Conference of Dalcroze Studies. As an educator, Dani has taught dance, music, and English as a Second Language for a variety of organizations including Bates Dance Festival, School of Rock West Hartford, BlingABC, Muhlenberg Community Dance Center, and University at Buffalo, where they currently teach Modern Dance, Appreciating Dance, and Global Dance Studies to undergraduates.
