Junyla Silmon is a New Jersey/New York-based movement artist originally from Canton, MS. In 2022, she graduated summa cum laude from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and a minor in Business Administration. Since graduating, she has worked with Freespace Dance, Accent Dance NYC, Studio Susan Marshall, and Company SBB/Stefanie Batten Bland. Currently, Junyla is a performer in the final cast of Punchdrunk's Sleep No More in NYC. Beyond her performance career, Junyla is a Senior Research Consultant and Team Training Lead with Dance Data Project. Junyla is passionate about promoting and building safe and equitable dancing spaces and looks forward to embedding these ambitions into Kayla Farrish’s Put Away the Fire, dear.
