JANIE DESMOND, SHE/HER (CREATIVE EXPERT), first began her dance training with ShaLeigh in 2005. Together they’ve created a movement relationship and bond that has spanned almost two decades. In 2018, they presented their duet, J’aime ma soeur, at DPAC for Reality’s annual talent show. Janie began working with SDW as a Guest Artist in 2019. This ADF commission builds on enVISION: Sensory Beyond Sight, where Janie served as a creative collaborator and expert in 2022. Janie also performed in 100% The Triangle at Carolina Performing Arts this past October 2023 with Rimini Protokoll, a data-driven theater experience created by the German theater group Rimini Protokoll. Janie is a 2015 graduate of UNC Greensboro with a certificate in Integrative Community Studies.
