We are thrilled to welcome you to the community tour of Langston Hughes: A Lyrical Life, a musical program and literary experience honoring Hughes' extraordinary legacy.
Langston Hughes' journey began right here in the Midwest. To honor this local legacy and celebrate a defining voice of the Harlem Renaissance, we are proud to bring his remarkable story to life through song.
Building on our presentation of Porgy and Bess and marking the U.S. Semiquincentennial, this program fuses art with literature, featuring musical settings of Hughes' poetry that provide his words remain profoundly resonant today.
Thank you for joining us.
Sincerely,
Neal Long, Director of Learning
Emily Bridges, Manager of School Programs
Laura Blankenship, Manager of Community Programs
