Welcome to Amahl and the Night Visitors
A letter from Deborah Sandler Kemper, General Director and CEO

Welcome to Amahl and the Night Visitors! We are delighted to bring you this touching holiday show. Created in the midst of the pandemic, we are thrilled to finally share this with children of all ages. All of us on staff love this production.  It features our talented Resident Artists, an octet of Lyric Opera chorus members, a small chamber group of musicians, and our beautiful puppets. We also want to call out our fabulous puppeteers! This show continues to leave a lump in our throats.

For the first time, we have added three daytime shows for schools to join us. You may have noticed that we are doing more and more education projects and experiences for families to share together. Please look for our communications after the new year as we prepare to produce Listen, Wilhelmina! on April 15 and 16. This fun, interactive opera for families about three wombats going to their first concert is ideal for children ages 3-8 but works on many levels.

In closing, on behalf of all of Lyric Opera of Kansas City, may the warmth of this production stay with you over the holiday season.
