Wallis and Winston, two wombats, have arrived at their first chamber music concert taking place on a beach. Winston is looking forward to the experience, but Wallis is less enthused. Wilhelmina, a third wombat, arrives and quickly becomes acquainted with her new friends. Wilhelmina is thrilled to hear the music and shouts her excitement! Wallis is still not sure about the concert. Winston offers reassurance, explaining that there are different kinds of music.
Lifeguard Nat enters and reminds the audience about the importance of listening. Wilhelmina becomes antsy. Lifeguard Nat introduces the very famous Maestro and explains what happens at a concert in terms of audience decorum. Wilhelmina responds to the concert authentically, but not quite in line with typical audience expectations. The concert continues and shenanigans ensue. Wilhelmina begins dancing, laughing, shouting, and even making her way on stage with the band! "Listen, Wilhelmina!," her friends plead.
Chaos erupts, and the Maestro responds in an unexpected manner—she is thrilled by the reaction and invites Winston, Wallis, and Lifeguard Nat to share their voices! Wilhelmina is enraptured by the turn of events, and settles down to take in the experience. Her friends are shocked—Wilhelmina listened.
Lifeguard Nat explains that there are many, many ways to listen and declares the concert a success! All look forward to their next musical adventure, their next opportunity to listen. BRAVI!
