is a retired Director of Bands at G. Ray Bodley High School, and is an adjunct professor of Music at SUNY Oswego, serving as the school's brass instructor and teaching music theory and appreciation. Mr. Caviness was most recently seen playing lead trumpet at The REV Theatre Company and in Rome, Italy performing with his jazz and classical trio. Mr. Caviness has performed with Symphoria, the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Central New York Jazz Orchestra, Central Winds, and has played n brass music of Karel Husa, which was nominated for a Grammy and he performed with the Central Winds at the 2009 and 2016 Midwest Symposium. He is co-founder and conductor of the Allegro Youth Music Programs. Mr. Caviness serves as an active guest conductor, clinician and performer around the state.
