Welcome to Legacy In Motion!
On behalf of the Sacramento Ballet Board of Directors, let me extend my appreciation to our patrons, subscribers, donors, and sponsors for joining us at the Ballet this season.
We are thrilled to welcome you to Legacy In Motion, Artistic Director Tiit Helimets’ debut season here in Sacramento. We know you will be captivated by the performances onstage and hope that you are inspired by them long after you’ve left the theater.
We are in the midst of an exciting time at the Sacramento Ballet. New leadership, new staff, and new opportunities are nourishing the Ballet’s deep roots so that we can grow to new heights. While change can be challenging, the Ballet is poised to bring dance to our community in a big way this season. Expanded class offerings at our school, including our new location in Roseville, exciting partnerships that increase accessibility, and world-class artists and choreographers are bringing audiences closer to the Ballet and the magic of dance in our region and beyond.
And it couldn’t happen at a better time. The ubiquity of AI-generated “art” and the ever-present distraction of social media tends to keep us from experiences that allow us to connect with one another in real life. For a few short hours, ballet reminds us of our shared humanity, where we can collectively get lost in the beauty of a performance, the elegance of a pas de deux, and the power of a perfectly executed leap. More than ever, the Sacramento Ballet is committed to bringing these deeply human experiences to you in a welcoming, memorable, beautiful way.
Thank you for joining us in this important work. Bravo to our talented dancers and staff and bravo to you – our beloved audience!
Sincerely,

Jean Kinney Hurst
President, Sacramento Ballet Board of Directors
