Dance of the Yao People” is one of the most popular Chinese contemporary instrumental pieces, the work draws from a traditional dance melody of the Yao people, an ethnic minority of Southwestern China. This arrangement by Mei Han and Randy Raine-Reusch features the bawu, a single free reed pipe popular among the Yao and other cultural groups of the Southwest.
