Irelynn White

Irelynn started playing the clarinet in 5th grade, almost eight years ago, at the suggestion of her mom who also played the clarinet as a student. Irelynn has been a member of the Youth Orchestra program for the last 5 years since starting 8th grade. She has played clarinet throughout middle and high school, and will continue playing at Augustana University with a Pro Musica Scholarship. At Augustana, Irelynn will major in Psychology and works toward postgraduate studies in Forensic Psychology while continuing to perform with the Sioux Falls Municipal Band. One of Irelynn’s proudest moments in music includes her performance in the Young Musicians Concerto Competition, where her solo ended in the highest note she had played before, and she earned the Henry Charles Smith Award for Spirit and Enthusiasm.
