Jan Sandstrom is no stranger to trombone repertoire, even as a broadly published classical composer. Famous for his Motorbike Concerto, he is not particularly prolific as would be expected in his field. Having taken on the full-time teaching responsibilities for composition studies at the conservatory in Pitea since 1989, his output has been very sparse but effective. Sandstroms’ neoclassical ballet, Tale of a Manor, was filmed and distributed by the Swedish Royal Ballet to critical acclaim.
