Chi m’ascolta il canto usato
Gioachino Rossini

Whoever me hears the singing customary happy release sometimes will believe that I am blessed, that on my vows smiles love. Not it is true! I seek with the song to give vent to my suffering. I am hiding from others the tears, I suspend my suffering. I sing love because she who thus makes me suffer about my sorrow, about ills my, ever not would have to rejoice. And thus lessening the fire that I enclose in my bosom, I want to see if by little by little toward me cruel will be love.
