Evan Smith (he/him) is a first-year Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre student in the Class of 2029 and is delighted to be making his collegiate performance debut. A native of Robertsdale, Alabama, Smith has appeared in numerous productions with Eastern Shore Repertory Theater, including Rooster (Annie), Race (Newsies), Mungojerrie (Cats), Donkey (Shrek), Bruno (Encanto Ballet) and the Cat in the Hat (Seussical), as well as ensemble roles in The Wizard of Oz. Additional credits include principal dance roles in Dot and the Kangaroo, Aladdin Ballet, Pippin and Godspell.
Smith has trained extensively in voice, acting and dance. He currently studies voice with Dr. Mary Ann Kyle and previously trained with Marjorie Searcy. He has worked with monologue coach Erin Langley since 2019 and has studied ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical with Driven Dance Company and Sheffield School of the Dance. Smith furthered his training through the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Summer Intensive and Broadway Artists Alliance in New York City.
In addition to theatre, Smith has been recognized with numerous honors in dance and cheer, including Teen Male Honor Dancer, National Honor Dancer and Outstanding Individual Performer. He is a four-time All-American Mascot (2021 to 2024).
Smith is grateful for the opportunity to begin his collegiate journey with this production and thanks his teachers, mentors and family for their continued support.
