Tiffanie Carson, also known as ‘TCarson,’ is a dedicated educator, mentor and performance artist with a passion for shaping pre-professional dancers where she has had the privilege of being a vital part of the dance faculty for over twelve years. TCarson teaches technique courses exploring industry styles through the lens of contemporary and commercial movement practices, working closely with both dance and musical theatre majors. She is also the faculty mentor and advisor for the senior Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) dance majors for their capstone performance projects. TCarson choreographs annually for the conservatory’s faculty concerts, as well as the precision holiday dance for the annual Holiday Gala. To date, she has choreographed more than thirty world premieres for the Shenandoah Conservatory Dance Ensemble.
TCarson’s excellence in teaching has been recognized with the Transformative Teaching Award (2020) and the James R. and Mary B. Wilkins Appreciation Award (2024). In addition to teaching at Shenandoah University (SU), she serves as adjunct faculty at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, teaching contemporary and commercial dance styles.
As a choreographer, TCarson has presented work at numerous festivals and showcases, including the New York Jazz Choreography Project (2016, 2018, 2024), VelocityDC Dance Festival (2016), Annual Choreographers’ Showcase at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (2017, 2020), the Pushing Progress Series (2017) and the American College Dance Association Gala Concert (2020).
In addition to her academic work, TCarson is in her 14th season with Christopher K. Morgan & Artists (CKM&A), directed by Christopher K. Morgan, where she serves as company dancer and assistant director. She has toured nationally with the company as part of the creative development and rehearsal direction for Pōhaku, and is currently on tour for Native Intelligence / Innate Intelligence. TCarson is also a longtime member of 18 years for BARE Dance CompaNY, directed by Mike Esperanza, where the company just celebrated its 20th anniversary with the performance of The Evolution of Separation presented at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in July 2025.
In addition to her regular university teaching commitments, TCarson serves as a guest artist and educator, sharing her artistry and insight with emerging dancers across the country.
