Angela Dice Nguyen
Choreographer

Angela Dice Nguyen is the founding artistic director and producer of The MoveMessenger(s), a contemporary dance project based in Northern Virginia. Raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Angela earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts under the direction of Susan S. Stowe. She performed throughout the United States and abroad as a member of DanceWorks Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Project.b., Copious Dance Theater, August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble, Robert Moses’ KIN (guest appearance), Dayton Arts Project and The Mountain Playhouse, among others. Some of her choreographic commissions include Dance Theatre of San Francisco, Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, James Madison University, McCallum Theater’s Choreography Festival, Piel Morena Contemporary Dance, Collage Youth Ensemble and more.

Nguyen also collaborated with Ahmad Simmons/Pursuit Productions and Princess Grace Award recipient Joshua Manculich to perform and stage their works. Additional credits include appearances in Summit Entertainment’s Sorority Row and The New York Times bestseller Dancers Among Us by photographer Jordan Matter. She has taught classes and workshops for DanceWorks Chicago’s Dance360, Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, James Madison University’s dance program and Next Steps Summer Dance Intensive, Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, Propel Charter Schools and The MoveMessenger(s).

She enjoys connecting with communities as a writer and mother of two.
